Re-wire Your Facial Expressions

When you get angry, do you frown or clench your lips? What about when you’re surprised? Most of us raise our eyebrows, but why not smile instead?
Whether it evolved slowly over time or was a part of our initial design, specific emotions have been wired to specific muscles. Happiness engages the Zygomaticus Minor and Major and Levator Anguli Oris, while disgust primarily involves the Levator Labii Superioris. Of course, facial muscles rarely work alone to convey complex emotions, usually contracting in different combinations and intensities. There are individual and cultural variations, but these expressions are generally recognizable. For example, when Māori perform their traditional Haka challenge with raised eyebrows, bulging eyes, and protruding tongues, we understand their intent despite the heavy flexing of the "surprise" muscle, Frontalis.
The Connection Between Emotions and Wrinkles
As we age and frequently experience certain emotions, wrinkles start to appear. This is partly due to the repeated creasing of the skin in specific areas. Emotions set facial muscles in motion, and if we could control these muscles, we could potentially prevent wrinkles.
Botox and Its Limitations
Botox works by immobilizing facial muscles, preventing emotions from causing wrinkles. However, this comes with a downside: it can affect your ability to have orgasms. Smooth face or better orgasms? Smooth face or better orgasms? Most men wouldn’t struggle making their choice. But if you’re a woman? What if you didn't have to choose?
Introducing Zuza Facial Fitness Grafting Technique
Enter Zuza Facial Fitness Grafting (or Re-wiring). This technique, which I developed years ago, is one of Zuza Facial Fitness signature methods to prevent deep expression wrinkles and combat Resting Bitch Face (FAQ).
Grafting borrows its name from gardening, where a part of one plant is grafted onto another. In facial fitness, it means diverting the expression of an emotion onto a different, non-wrinkle-causing outlet—usually another muscle, but it can be vocal or something else entirely. Sounds weird? It can be, but it’s as effective as it is quirky.
How Grafting Works
Firstly, we don’t graft emotions onto unrelated muscles. Re-wiring surprise, anger, or joy onto your glutes or abs wouldn’t make sense. We re-wire onto other facial muscles that can effectively convey the same emotions. For example, while the Corrugator Supercilii is often the go-to muscle for anger, the Levator Palpebrae Superioris combined with the Orbicularis Oris can convey the same message without causing wrinkles. This doesn’t work for everyone, but it’s effective often enough to make it worth trying.
Is It Natural?
Some clients ask, "Is it natural?" It’s certainly more natural than injecting toxins or undergoing surgery. You’re not altering your body with foreign substances; you’re just expanding your expressive range in a fun and effective way.
Embrace the quirky and innovative approach of Grafting (Re-wiring). It’s a fun way to prevent deep wrinkles while expanding your expressive abilities. Give it a try and see the difference for yourself!
