Hello! I'm Zuza and l am the creator of Zuza Facial Fitness. Couldn't make it anymore obvious, could I! ​ First signs of ageing - so natural, and, well, expected. And yet they seem to catch most of us by surprise. When you saw them on your face, could you believe it's really already happening? Neither could I ​ At the time I was an award-winning speaker and just debuted as a book author. I was helping employers of young employees tackle their Gen Y problems, I was happy.

I was doing well. I wasn’t & planning on changing the focus of my career and reinventing the wheel. I Knew the power of exercising and its transformative potential. So when my mum mentioned an old Russian ballerina who would exercise her face to Keep it smooth, lifted and in shape, it just made perfect sense! I was sure that a high quality face exercise program would be one Google search away, so I could forget the whole ageing drama once and for all. Yet, at the time, I found nothing. Nothing that would satisfy my criteria and standards for quality and clarity. From vague instructions, through facial anatomy that didn't quite add un. to exercises that stretched my skin causing more harm than good. racial fitness still made perfect sense. But now I Knew that if I wanted a program I'd be happy with. I'd have to create it for myself. by myself. I took on the challenge.

Fast forward 12 years, two Kids later and a whole lot of things to take care of, my project in a very ripe stage, was largely put on hold. I still worked on it, in bursts, and quite intensively. Meanwhile other facial fitness instructors started appearing on the facial fitness arena. ​

While not all of them provided beneficial programs, they all certainly helped making the concept of facial fitness a familiar one. To be a pioneer is the hardest thing! When years ago I talked about facial fitness, many - if not most - struggled to comprehend it. I had to explain, and explain, and try to. When I mention it, most people get excited, want to learn more and even try. And for that I thank my peers in the field. They paved the way and spread the word about this wonderful, natural approach.

How to teach facial fitness? How to tailor each program in order to get the best results for every individual face? To answer these questions I have put the time and effort into testing, going back and forth, revising. getting feedback. The intricate anatomy of the face, which I have learnt from the best in the field of aesthetics, anatomy and face biomechanics is my specialty….

  • The creator of the ZFF programme is Zuza Scherer, a fitness trainer certified by the International Sport Science Association (ISSA) . She is a Polish Kiwi, and lives in Dubai with her husband and two girls.

  • The effects last for as long as you exercise regularly. When you master the correct technique, you can use ZFF whenever you need to, wherever you may be. Once learnt, the method belongs to you. ZFF offers an excellent and long lasting, honest value for money.

  • ZFF prevents unfavourable changes in the face’s appearance. Unexercised muscles that are rarely used sag and atrophy with time. This process affects the face as much as it affects the rest of the body.

    Without exercising and building a solid base, skin gives into the forces of gravity. It wilts, collapses, wrinkles and droops. As we get older we lose muscle mass and the cheeks become saggy and flat. This makes the nose stick out more and seem more prominent. Skin on the neck becomes loose. When the lower face looses its triangular shape and looks heavier – the so called bulldogs cheeks appear. Forehead and brows slide down shading the eyes.

    These unfavourable changes are commonly attributed to the irreversible ageing process. ZFF can delay the onset of most of these changes, it can prevent some of them, while some of these changes are to a large degree reversible.

  • Experiment and pinch the skin on the top of your hand. Notice that you grabbed only the skin without any muscles underneath. Now try to do the same with your chin or cheek. You cannot pinch only skin without getting hold of the muscles.

     

    Scientists proved that 43 facial muscles interacting together can create 10,000 different facial expressions! Everyday however, most of us put on a poker face, we avoid showing too many emotions. This limited mimicry means that we use very few facial muscles. Unused facial muscles wilt, sag and wither, resulting in the skin to become flabby and wrinkly.

     

    Such skin is often a sign of weak facial muscles that became atrophied. Many of the visible changes that affect the face are associated with the irreversible ageing profess. Meanwhile they are often simply the result of facial muscle atrophy. And this process is reversible – by the ZFF programme.

  • It’s very, VERY important. Facial muscles are small and there are many of them on a small surface of the face. A small difference in how and where you contract has a big impact on whether you exercise correctly and what results you will achieve.

     

    Often the difference between right and wrong is very small and hard to pick up to a facial fitness beginner. The result would be the equivalent of working out your calves, when what you want is tighten your tights. An experienced ZFF instructor will immediately pick up the mistake provide instructions to correct it.

     

    If you exercise without the instructor, the best way to ensure correct execution is to take it slowly at the beginning and always exercise in front of the mirror. Understand how your facial muscles work and you will gain a technique that will serve you for life. You will gain independence in retaining and regaining your young looks.

  • Face exercising is probably one of the most effective non-invasive anti-ageing method to prevent facial ageing. There are a few conditions: the exercises have to be the right ones, correctly chosen for your needs and correctly performed.

     

    ZFF is the first face exercise programme, which has been developed according to the knowledge of complex anatomy and biomechanics of the face. The programme’s foundation is based on the principles of specialist sport science.

  • Some people see improvement after just one week, others after a month. How fast you progress will depend equally on the initial state of your facial muscles, and the frequency and the quality of your exercise sessions.

  • It’s never too late to start exercising – your stomach, legs or your face. It’s also never too early. ZFF is equally effective as a form of prevention and intervention.

     

    We advise not to correct what is already in a perfect state. If your face is still smooth and plump leave it alone and enjoy the fleeting state of an effortless youth while it lasts.

  • In many cases it can do that.

     

    Botox is usually used to smoothen the deep expression wrinkles like the 11s lines, nasolabial folds, horizontal forehead wrinkles. It immobilizes the ‘hyperactive’ muscle(s) the frequent contracting of which causes these wrinkles to form. Botulinum toxin users might suffer a couple of unsuspected side effects but apart from that, Botox is just couple of injections every few months. Job done.

     

    In turn, ZFF approach is quite involved. It is also holistic and, for many who tried it, quite rewarding.

    On one hand we rebuild the strength of those facial muscles that atrophied due to years of inactivity. They may need to take on some of the tasks currently performed by the ‘hyperactive’ muscles (the ones responsible for the wrinkles).

     

    We also zoom in on the culprit muscle(s) themselves. Gaining facial awareness and relaxing your face are a must if you want to smoothen the deep expression lines naturally.  Once you learn to calm and control the deep wrinkle causing muscle(s), we start growing them, so they fill in and push the creases out naturally, from the inside out, thus smoothing them.

     

    ZFF programme and Botox can be used simultaneously – in different parts of the face. A muscle that has been immobilized by Botox will not respond to the nervous impulse, thus it will not be possible to exercise it.

  • If you want the lips, nose or cheeks like someone else’s, then ZFF will probably not give you the results you’re after. With us you are in control because our programmes are safe and non-invasive – they work in harmony with your body tissues, and their natural limits.

     

    Facial exercises develop your own muscles, which is already under your skin so there is no need for scalpels and needles. Our exercises are risk free without any undesirable side effects, infections or allergies. The results you get with ZFF are holistic and unique to you.

  • With face exercises it’s just like with exercising the rest of your body: the more seriously you treat them, the better the results. Optimum results are possible when the exercising frequency is adjusted accordingly to your needs and expectations, as well as the state of your facial muscles.

  • Once you are able to perform the exercises efficiently and correctly, it will take you no more than 10 minutes. The first week or two is a learning stage. Be prepared that those first sessions will take longer. If your time is precious then we would recommend a session with a ZFF instructor.

  • Thanks to exercising your facial muscles will grow and become strong. Exercising alone however, will not build your muscles to become disproportionally large. For the hypertrophy (growth of muscle tissue) testosterone is necessary. The amount of testosterone in healthy women under normal circumstances is insufficient to develop overgrown muscles, so there is no need to worry.

  • Collagen depleted skin, without the strong scaffolding of muscles is not well filled in from the inside and it wrinkles more, also when you exercise. This is why during each exercise session you use your fingers to stabilize and protect the skin in the areas where it creases the most. In this way you prevent unnecessary wrinkling. At the same time, thanks to the exercising the muscles underneath your skin iron the wrinkles out from the inside out. More in the Blogs

  • Contrary to the common belief, exercising one body area does not produce fat loss in that particular place/area. Fat burning is not selective, even though we may be under the impression that our body burns fat from everywhere but from the buttocks, or burns it only from the bust. When you exercise, you utilise the energy produced by metabolising fat from your entire body – not just from the muscle involved in the given exercise.

     

    When your facial muscles become stronger your face will look more toned, making your features look more defined. So your face will not loose fat, it will simply look more slender.

  • Even though fat burning is not selective, specific exercises will improve the appearance of your chin and jaw line. ZFF will give your chin more definition and nicer contour.

  • ZFF effects are fully reversible. You have 100% control. After about two months unexercised muscles will go back to the way they were before you started.

  • No, it’s never too late. ZFF is beneficial for young as well as for mature people. A woman is different at every age, but she can always be beautiful. Improvements in the appearance achieved with ZFF happen gradually. You begin to look better and better, without the instantaneous and drastic change. Your face will rejuvenate in a balanced way, which is organic to you, without any incriminating marks. It will always be 100% your face, your features, only refreshed and rejuvenated.
